Why Market Your Business?
Boy do I like this title of this article. I didn’t write it but it’s so important to any business. I can’t tell you how many (passionate about product) people I’ve encountered out there. I’m no expert but there are ingredient geeks, financially focused, love them and leave them people who think that you only have to mention your product and they’ll jump in your lap. Is that realistic? If I go into a big box retailer not looking for a toaster and someone mentions this outrageous toaster with racing stripes and all the bells and whistles that the coolest toaster would have would you buy it? Probably not. Why do you think it’s gonna be that way with your product or service?
Do you expect to shoot fish in a barrel? This is a big misconception with business owners especially home business owners. It’s not like that. This article offers just some of the ways to market your business. You have to choose what’s best for your target market. People won’t just show up just because you turn the sign over from closed to open. You have to market to them. If you don’t the sign will say closed sooner than you would expect.
